#3 SACMI IPS 300, taking preform production towards total quality control

SACMI (SHANGHAI) MACHINERY EQUIPMENT CO., LTD. Elite Member

Source:www.sacmi.com Date:2022-08-18

On the IPS 300, automation is designed to provide immediate, tangible economic benefits for the customer. The latest IPS generation features automation built on Beckhoff TwinCAT? architecture with EtherCAT? fieldbus. This ‘infrastructure’ lets manufacturers take process control to previously unthinkable levels, thus laying the groundwork - thanks to huge data processing and carrying capacity - for opening the industry to IoT opportunities (self-learning, predictive checks, etc.).

How it works

The system picks a column of pressed material before it is released by the discharge head. Advanced AI algorithms are used to perform checks within a set time on the basis of the quantity of preforms present and the complexity of the required inspection.

Itself configurable according to customer needs, the PVS does not interfere with the press work cycle. Process corrections - effected in real time thanks to data feedback from the system - allow manufacturers to convert quality control into a competitive advantage by reducing non-conformities and increasing both the coverage and accuracy of routine checks.

PVS 156, the market’s first solution for 100% in-line quality control

The adopted post-cooler solution also allows utilization of an option that’s essential for process control: the PVS156 from the SACMI PVS (Preform Vision System) range, here integrated directly on the press.

This allows constant monitoring of production quality.

Within a maximum time of about 5 minutes, users can - in the case 96-cavity molds - now inspect an entire mold with extreme accuracy. Inspection involves a set of checks on each area of the preform and reading of the cavity number and weight. The result: precise real-time statistical reports.

#2 IPS 300: market-leading productivity

#1 SACMI IPS 300: a technological challenge
