Kingfa won the Recognition of Excellence of 2019 Paulson Prize for Sustainability
The award ceremony of the 6th Paulson Prize for Sustainability hosted by the Paulson
Institute and Tsinghua University was held in Beijing.
The project “Double Million: Plastic Waste Recycling
and Reprocessing” by
Kingfa Sci. & Tech. Co., Ltd. has stood out from more than 100 innovative solutions and won the Recognition
of Excellence of
2019 Paulson Prize for Sustainability. It is the first material project
that won the prize
since the establishment of the Paulson Award.
The “Double Million” project uses advanced technology
to turn plastic waste into environmentally-friendly and high-performance plastic products for a wide
range of industries, from electronics, textiles, home appliances to automobiles.
The project has established a new upstream
recycling network, creating a sustainable circular economy model that can work
globally.
By 2030, it is expected to annually produce 1 million tons of
environmentally-friendly, high-performance recycled plastic, and recycle
up to 1 million tons of plastic waste.
