Trip to South Korea: INC-5 opens today
The fifth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC-5) opens today (November 25) in Busan, Republic of Korea. Over the next few days, world leaders will discuss and develop an international legally binding instrument to combat plastic pollution. Editors of Adsale Plastics Network attend the event on site.
In her opening speech, Inger Andersen, Executive Director of UNEP, urged the negotiators to focus on what is important and urgent. She also emphasized that it is crucial not to lower the bar so far that the treaty becomes meaningless.
