US flexible packaging market worth US$26.7 billion according to FPA analysis

The US Flexible Packaging Association (FPA) recently released the FPA Flexible Packaging Industry Segment Profile Analysis, stating that the current US market worth US$26.7 billion.

According to the analysis, the estimated size of the US flexible packaging industry is 17.3 billion pounds in volume and worth US$26.7 billion. Bags, excluding retail, storage and trash bags, accounted for 26.4% of the US market, approximately US$7 billion and 4.8 billion pounds.

From 2002-2012, the US flexible packaging market grew at a compound annual growth rate of 3% in US dollars and 0.8% in pounds. The stand-up pouches, flow wraps and retort pouches segments are currently experiencing high rates of growth.
