Waterless hand sanitizer packaging uses 25% less plastic

Jan 10, 2012
US healthcare products manufacturer and distributor Medline Industries, Inc announces a new sustainable package that claims to be designed with 25% less plastic.

The new package was designed for Sterillium Comfort Gel, an alcohol-based antiseptic hand gel manufactured exclusively for Medline by BODE Chemie for distribution throughout North America. As introduced, the new design features a lighter, thinner bottle which reduces the amount of raw materials required in production. This results in significant energy savings that, according to Medline, are sufficient to heat approximately 60 homes a year.

The hand gel in the new 475ml package is now available to hospitals, post-acute care facilities, homecare providers and other healthcare related entities throughout the US.
