Star Packaging of College Park, a flexible packaging material specialist based in Georgia, the US, has ordered a new 10-color MIRAFLEX CM flexographic press from Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corporation, a German supplier serving the flexible packaging industry. The press will be installed in September 2010.

The substantial boost in capacity provided by the MIRAFLEX will allow Star Packaging to support company growth and meet an increasing demand from customers.

The MIRAFLEX marks Star Packaging's second investment in W&H technology. "Back in 2006, we acquired a PRIMAFLEX from W&H. It's a great piece of equipment and has driven our growth. Our facility is geared to customer service, quick turnaround time and good quality. The PRIMAFLEX has served us well and that's why we're investing in another press from W&H," says Mike Wilson, President of Star Packaging.

Wilson explained that the new press will strengthen the company's sustainability efforts by generating less waste and providing quick set up and run times.

The 52" 10-color MIRAFLEX CM is capable of printing speeds up to 1,640 ft/min. and is equipped with EASY-SET for automatic impression setting, EASY-REG for registration and TURBOCLEAN automatic ink supply and wash-up system that completes ink changes on all decks in less than five minutes.
