KraussMaffei starts selling large-scale 3D printer powerPrint
The large-scale 3D printer powerPrint made its debut at the K 2022. It is now available for purchase, and KraussMaffei also offers a print-on-demand service.
The powerPrint printer for 3D printing can produce products with a volume of up to ten cubic meters, be it mold and tool, custom packaging or even a table. It has been tested for a wide variety of fiber-reinforced and compounded materials and is ready to print with the highest quality standards.
With a high output rate of up to 30 kg/h, the printer produces components with dimensions of up to 2 m x 2.5 m x 2 m independently and without manual intervention at a temperature of up to 350 °C.
The parts are removed from the machine from the front through a door or by crane via a folding roof in the heat-resistant enclosure. Thanks to vacuum-fixed printing plates, print jobs can be changed rapidly.
The smart machine design ensures a high level of work safety. In addition, a specially developed human-machine interface ensures intuitive and simple operation.

Interestingly, KraussMaffei also offers the print-on-demand service as an alternative to purchase the printer. In this service, applications are designed according to customer specifications as well as technical possibilities, and KraussMaffei also handles post-processing.
Several components have already been produced in such way, such as a molding tool for the vacuum infusion process, a sand casting mold and a charging column, among others.
