PLAST 2023 notches up success with 26% foreign visitors

PLAST 2023, held from 5-8 September at Fiera Milano, proves to be a successful event. The exhibition in Italy attracted 38,000 visitors, with 26% of them coming from 109 countries, including Europe (63.89%), Asia (20.22%), Africa (7.58%), Americas (7.56%) and Oceania (0.75%).

Visitors from different countries attended PLAST 2023.

Besides, attended by 1,323 exhibitors, with 47% were foreigners, and 300 international buyers, coordinated by ICE – Agency for the Promotion Abroad and Internationalisation of Italian Companies, the international nature of the PLAST was confirmed.

The exhibition dedicated to the plastics and rubber industries included satellite shows Rubber (rubber industry), 3D Plast (3D printing and related), PlastMat (innovative materials) and a wide range of cutting-edge technological solutions on the key subjects of industrial production such as digitalisation and sustainability.

The event also included conferences.

PLAST 2023 proved to be a success with impressive figures of participation by international exhibitors, visitors and buyers, despite the fact that this year’s event did not coincide with The Innovation Alliance.

With post-pandemic trend towards doing business remotely, businesses and professionals are becoming more selective and tend to go to events and exhibitions which are considered truly strategic. Promaplast srl, the organizer of PLAST, emphasized that the attendance figures show that the exhibition’s credibility has been confirmed in this respect.

"As organisers of the event, we are satisfied," said Mario Maggiani, General Manager of Promaplast. "We know that the beginning of September is a complicated time for an exhibition, but the change in the post-COVID exhibition calendar left us no room for manoeuvre. However, this did not prevent us from organising another successful event.”

“Moreover, the split between Italian and foreign visitors, at around 70% and 30% respectively, tells us that, overall, we have achieved a good result in an increasingly complex international exhibition context," he added.
