FKuR will present its broad portfolio of sustainable plastics solutions, including bio-based bioplastics, comprehensive recyclate portfolio and customized recyclate compounds for injection molding and extrusion at Fakuma 2023 under the company’s motto “Keeping carbon in the cycle”.

Customized green PE compound for construction toy

With improved mechanics and recyclability, a bio-based recyclable plastic from FKuR is compatible to produce TicToys’ Binabo construction toy.

The Binabo 2.0 made from renewable, recyclable bioplastic by FKuR.

The toy’s previous material occasionally fractured when the components were exposed to high degrees of tension over a long period of time.

Tony Rameda from TicToys commented that the new formulation is both soft enough to be effortlessly assembled by younger children and strong enough to meet the stability requirements of the constructed objects.

Terralene rPP recycled and bio-based compounds

The polypropylene (PP)-based hybrid compounds of the Terralene rPP brand from FKuR combine the ecological advantages of using recyclates and bio-based raw materials with 100% recyclability.

Depending on the product grade, the recyclate content from post-consumer waste streams ranges from 30% to 60%. The bio-based share can reach up to 33%.

With good flowability and the natural or white color of the granules, the drop-in product range can be used in a wide variety of applications. Yet, applications are still limited to non-food sector.

Recycled polyolefin compounds based on PCR

FKuR extends its portfolio of recycled materials under the brand name Macolen R. It includes both high-quality customer-specific compounds and standard formulations based on post-consumer recyclates.

All grades are featured by low odor and consistently high quality while meeting demanding requirements in terms of technical properties. With the high quality of the recycled raw materials used, FKuR meets the specific requirements of various extrusion and injection molding applications using Macolen R.
