Shanghai World of Packaging (swop 2023) grandly opens

Under the slogan “Intelligence, Digitalization, Personalization”, Shanghai World of Packaging (swop 2023) grandly opens today (November 22) at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) in Shanghai, China.

 

The three-day trade fair dedicated to packaging themes showcases latest technologies and solutions for sustainable packaging, e-commerce and logistics packaging, innovative packaging materials, packaging design, printing and labeling, smart factory, etc.

 

The trade fair houses about 900 packaging machinery manufacturers and packaging materials producers in exhibition area of 62,000sqm. The exhibitors come from Belgium, China, Germany, Luxembourg, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Switzerland, USA, and other countries and regions around the globe.

Smart Packaging Zone makes debut

 

Special exhibition areas and distinctive zones are set up to present the packaging industry trends. One of these is the Smart Packaging Zone, which makes its debut at swop 2023.

 

The featured zone displays smart packaging of functional materials, structural and information-based smart packaging, container production, packaging machinery as well as related technical applications.

 

The exhibits fully meet businesses’ requirements for intelligence, enabling them to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

 

Concurrent forums shed light on digital transformation

 

Organized by the Shanghai Packaging Technology Association, the “Digital Transformation Promoting High Quality Development in The Packaging Industry Forum” is scheduled to take place at the trade fair.

 

The forum invites representatives from renowned food and beverage companies, including Yimin Foods and Bright Dairy, to share successful cases of innovative product packaging digitalization. It serves as a platform for industry stakeholders to exchange knowledge and share experience in adopting digital technology in packaging design and production.

 

Other not to be missed concurrent forums include “AI Driven Future Forum-The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Global Packaging Trends” and “Green Power - How Sustainable Packaging Can Improve Product Competitiveness”.

SAVE FOOD calls for sustainable food packaging

 

At swop, the SAVE FOOD initiative by Messe Düsseldorf and interpack not only calls attention to reducing food loss and food waste, but also emphasizes the importance of sustainable design in achieving this goal.

 

For the first time, the SAVE FOOD DESIGN and SUSTAINABILITY DESIGN AWARD presents to exhibitors to honor innovative solutions in these fields. Besides, the “Save Food (China) Forum 2023” discusses current trends and developments within food packaging and processing.

 

The annual swop trade fair is co-organized by Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai and Adsale Exhibition Services Co., Ltd.


Business matching meetings connect buyers and suppliers


In view of further promoting information exchanges as well as purchasing efficiency between buyers and suppliers, the organizers team up with Adsale Plastics Network’s ConnectME business matching platform for the first time.

As told, the working committee collected more than 100 technical purchasing requirements one month before the opening of the trade fair. These requirements cover a wide range of materials and machinery, including bio-based packaging materials, PET injection stretch blow molding equipment, injection molding machines, innovative packaging containers, glass bottles, paper packaging, etc.

 

The ConnectME platform, launched by Adsale Plastics Network, provides on-target business matching service. It brings together buyers (from plastics recycling, packaging, medical, automotive, home appliances/3C electronics and other industries) and suppliers via diversified online and offline channels. More than 5,000 meetings were conducted since the launch of the platform.
