Repsol introduces ultra-clean polyethylene for mono-material packaging
Repsol launched new range of ultra-clean polyethylene to offer great versatility in designing different types of mono-material, 100% recyclable structures, which promotes packaging recycling.

The new ultra-clean polyethylene enhances the recyclability in flexible packaging.
The new range contains several grades of high-density polyethylene, low-density metallocene and an EBA copolymer.
It replaces multi-material structures, which cannot be fully recycled due to the difficulty in separating different materials. The new range promote sustainable flexible packaging by facilitating the recovery of the materials at the end of packaging’s life cycle through mechanical recycling.
The new material also offers customers a solution to achieve their sustainability objectives, anticipating the new European regulations that will come into force in 2030, which dictate that all packaging marketed in the EU must be recyclable.
“Our new range is also available in its circular, bio, and bio-circular alternatives to further drive our customers' sustainability commitments in circularity and decarbonization,” stated Antonio Portela, Polyolefins director.
