Polyplastics-Evonik Corporation announced their product VESTAKEEP-J has been adopted as the PEEK gear for Ars Corporation’s high branch electric clippers.

PEEK resin is used to produce a gear for Ars Corporation’s high branch electric clippers.

 

Previous challenge on material choice

 

With excellent sharpness, the high branch electric clippers are widely used in fields such as fruit farming, vegetable farming, flower farming, carpentry, craft making, landscaping, and gardening. Challenge is posed when concerning the durability of plastic gears used in the reduction unit of the electric clippers.

 

Metal gears were considered to ensure the necessary durability. However, this raises concern about electric shock prevention and an increase in overall weight. Also, regular maintenance such as applying grease is necessary to maintain stable performance over a long period of time.

 

VESTAKEEP-J PEEK gear

 

VESTAKEEP-J 5000GB features outstanding fatigue resistance, which helps achieve approximately five times the durability compared to conventional engineering plastic gears.

 

Besides that, the use of integrated gear does not require metal inserts, which leads to significant weight reduction and noise reduction.
