BOY to present two small injection molding machines at CHINAPLAS 2024

At CHINAPLAS 2024, BOY will be showcasing two small injection molding machines; its Chinese representative, Andeli Co., Ltd., will present two medical special parts to the visitors.

BOY XS to produce osteosynthesis plate

On a BOY XS machine, an osteosynthesis plate will be produced with a single-cavity, sprueless mold. This part is frequently used in the orthopaedic sector for the fixation of the skeleton. The individual weight of 0.05g with a cycle time of just 4.7 seconds requires a high level of repeatability of the machine.

With a clamping force of 100kN and a footprint of 0.78m², the BOY XS is compact and highly energy-efficient for a wide range of applications in micro and sprueless injection molding of small parts. With an efficiency classification of 7+ according to Euromap 60.1, the machine only requires 0.49kWh of energy per kilogram of material processed.

The intelligent design is adapted to the requirements of micro injection molding. A 12mm plasticizing unit (optional: screw diameters from 8-18mm available) ensures short dwell times, a major advantage for the gentle processing of temperature-sensitive materials.

BOY XS injection molding machine is suitabel for a wide range of applications in micro and sprueless injection molding of small parts. 

BOY 25 E to produce implant screw

Besides, a BOY 25 E machine will produce a screw made of PEEK, which is intended to be implanted into the tendon sheath area. The individual weight of the part is 0.093g only and the mold is operated with two cavities for high-precision injection. 

The BOY 25 E is a two-bar, fully-hydraulic machine with a two-platen clamping unit and a swivelling injection unit. It is claimed as the most compact one of its kind with the lowest machine hour rates. A wide range of thermoplastics, elastomers, silicones, thermosets as well as metals and ceramics (PIM technology) can be processed.

With the option of plasticizing unit EconPlast, the energy consumption of the machine can be significantly reduced. Five injection units in different sizes with screw diameters from 14mm to 32mm guarantee a precise manufacturing of injection molding parts with a parts weight of up to 69.5g (PS).
