Mobile payment in China can be challenging for overseas visitors. The payment platforms in China may require users to link their accounts to a Chinese bank account. Besides, users typically need to complete a real-name verification process with a Chinese phone number.

 

Recently, the Payment & Clearing Association of China has published the Guide to Payment Services in China in English for overseas visitors, covering a number of payment options, ranging from mobile payments to bank cards and cash.
