Clariant introduces new solutions to reduce environmental impact at NPE

Clariant introduces its latest solutions that help improve safety and efficiency, increase circularity and reduce waste at NPE 2024, which takes place on May 6-10 in Orlando, the US.

PFAS-free solution for polyolefin film extrusion

At NPE 2024, Clariant launches its new AddWorks PPA product range for the polyolefin film extrusion market. These new products contain no inorganic content nor silicone components while preserving high performance.

Clariant launches AddWorks PPA, a PFAS-free processing aid compositions for polyolefin film extrusion.

AddWorks PPA polymer additive range features smooth and stable processability, while also ensuring the highest possible optical film qualities (haze, gloss, clarity) by eliminating sharkskin and dye build-up effects.

The film tensile, mechanical, and sealing properties are unaffected by the new compositions and the solutions exhibit high thermal stability and low or no migration, as well as low let down ratios (LDRs) ensuring competitive cost-in-use.

Clariant plans to launch the AddWorks PPA in Spring 2024 in all regions.

HDPE wax for PVC processing in construction

The specialty chemical expert also introduces Licolub PED 1316, a new oxidized high-density polyethylene (HDPE) wax for internal and external use in PVC processing such as the extrusion of moldings, window frames, window/door tracks, pool steps/edging trim, and non-potable pipes.

It offers excellent flow and surface properties for the production of consistent profiles with improved scratch resistance. In addition, Licolub PED 1316 features consistent particle size for easy processing and a clean, optically white appearance.

Licolub PED 1316 is available in the Americas and is domestically produced to facilitate rapid sampling and supply.

Antioxidant solution for color protection

Clariant also brings the highly efficient antioxidant solution AddWorks PKG 158. With excellent procecssability, it provides outstanding color protection while also reducing thermal oxidative degradation of the polymer during multiple conversion processes.

In addition, with enhanced processing stabilization at elevated temperatures and its low migration attributes, AddWorks PKG 158 provides low discoloration and low plate-out attributes.
