BASF announced its investment in the expansion of its additives plant in Nanjing.

At present, the Nanjing site has become a powerhouse for the company’s additives in China and the Asia Pacific region, seamlessly integrating manufacturing, technical service, and R&D.

The new expansion will include a state-of-the-art production line for BASF’s high-performance Controlled Free Radical Polymerization (CFRP) dispersants based on its unique and cutting-edge technologies. Planned to start up by the end of 2025, the new line will be with state-of-the-art production processes and lower CO2 emissions.

“Benefits of CFRP technology include strong pigment affinity and excellent flocculation resistance enabled through well-defined polymer structure. This investment is a testimony of our commitment towards continuous innovation, supply reliability and sustainability,” stated Sylvain Huguenard, Vice President Global Business Unit Resins & Additives.

Dr. Jeffrey Lou, President and Chairman of BASF Greater China, concluded that the new investment in the additives plant in Nanjing will further strengthen BASF’s local production footprint in China, the world’s largest and fastest growing chemical market.
