BASF increases production capacity of performance materials in India

BASF India will increase the production capacity of its Ultramid polyamide (PA) and Ultradur polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) compounding plant in Panoli, Gujarat and Thane, Maharashtra.

BASF bolsters investment in its Performance Materials capacity and competencies in India.

The production capacity in Panoli and Thane sites will increase over 40%. The increased capacity will be available in the second half of 2025 fiscal year.

To be inaugurated on May 28 in Mumbai, its Polyurethane Technical Development Center India will also support market development of polyurethane applications in industries such as transportation, construction, footwear, appliances and furniture.

The center, with an approximately 2,000 square meter space, will house state-of-the-art applications equipment. It will offer improved customer support services, ranging from troubleshooting to customized formulations, line trials and customer training sessions.

It can further harness the expertise, synergies and competencies within BASF’s existing global polyurethane network, driving innovation alongside the Creation Center, located at BASF‘s Innovation Campus in Mumbai..
