This new solution is specifically designed for low smoke and fume wire and cable insulation, helping manufacturers comply with Europe’s stringent electrical and electronic fire safety regulations. 

Avient introduces ECCOH™ XL 8054, broadening its portfolio of cross-linkable flame retardant solutions for wire and cable applications.

ECCOH XL 8054 stands out for its exceptional processability. Unlike traditional elastomeric compounds, it can be processed using standard single-screw extrusion equipment, eliminating the need for a continuous vulcanization (CV) line. This innovation not only reduces production costs but also increases line speeds, offering manufacturers a more efficient and cost-effective solution.

It meets the Commission Electrotechnique Internationale (CEI) EN 50363-0:2015 standards (G17 and G18) and aligning with the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) for improved fire safety.

In addition to its processing advantages, ECCOH XL 8054 delivers superior mechanical properties, including high elongation at break and excellent performance in the Hot Set Test at 250°C. These characteristics make it suitable for a wide range of applications, such as shipbuilding, railways, building and construction, and solar cables.
