CHINAPLAS: Oriplas shines with RTP winding equipment for composite pipe manufacturing

In the high-pressure pipeline manufacturing sector, continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composite pipes (CFRTP/TCP) are gradually replacing traditional metal pipes with their excellent characteristics such as lightweight, high strength, and corrosion resistance, becoming a new trend in the industry development.

 

Oriplas has been deeply engaged in the industry for more than a decade, providing one-stop pipeline system solutions from raw material screening, process optimization to quality inspection. At CHINAPLAS 2025, the company presents its self-developed third-generation RTP winding equipment.

 

The Oriplas RTP winding equipment adopts the advanced pre-impregnated tape winding and in-situ consolidation process, breaking through the traditional step-by-step production mode and achieving simultaneous winding and thermal consolidation.

 

With the uniform hot-air heating technology, the equipment can ensure full material integration even at high speeds, significantly enhancing the interlayer bonding strength and anti-creep performance of pipes, and perfectly meeting the application requirements of harsh environments such as petroleum, chemical, and marine engineering.

Oriplas’ third-generation RTP winding equipment facilitates efficient and reliable pipeline production.

 

This equipment is highlighted with intelligence. It has a flexible multi-reel configuration, supporting 2/4/6-reel models. It can freely switch between single/double-layer winding modes according to the pipe diameter requirements and is equipped with clockwise/counterclockwise cross-rotation technology to precisely achieve radial and axial stress balance.

 

The full servo drive system is equipped with 13 high-precision servo motors. Both the main drive and positional control can be digitally adjusted to ensure millimeter-level accuracy in winding angle (±0.1° within ±20°), tension (sonic/servo constant tension control), and tape alignment.

 

The intelligent temperature control and automated management system, combined with a wireless control panel, supports human-machine interaction and multi-machine coordination. One-click parameter settings can greatly reduce manual intervention and ensure the stability of product quality.

 

In terms of structural design, the Oriplas RTP winding equipment is also unique. The heavy-duty rotary support uses Thyssenkrupp slewing bearings with a diameter of 1450mm and a maximum load capacity of 500 tons to ensure the stability of the equipment during large-diameter pipe production.

 

The synchronized feed/exit bracket system dynamically adjusts the pipe concentricity to make the roundness error of the pipe body approach zero, significantly improving the product qualification rate. The modular broadband design has a bandwidth ranging from 50 - 600mm, which can be flexibly matched according to the pipe strength requirements to achieve customized production of the "equal-strength structure".

 

After six years of iterative upgrades, the third-generation model has achieved leapfrog breakthroughs, serving many well-known enterprises around the world successfully.
