On the second day (April 16) of CHINAPLAS 2025, two major forums, the Sustainable Plastic Packaging Forum and the SportsTech Forum, provided insightful discussions and innovative perspectives, highlighting the intersection of sustainability and technology.

Sustainable Plastic Packaging Forum

The Sustainable Packaging Forum was a highlight, featuring two parallel sessions focused on flexible and rigid plastic packaging. It provided attendees with valuable insights into the cutting-edge technologies and solutions driving the industry forward.

Parallel Forum I focused on flexible plastic packaging, where leading suppliers such as Henkel, SABIC, and Miyakoshi Printing Machinery showcased their innovative solutions. Experts in the field discussed the latest advancements in sustainable materials, packaging designs, and production processes. The discussions centered on how flexible plastic packaging can evolve to meet environmental challenges while maintaining functionality and performance.

At Parallel Forum II, the spotlight shifted to rigid plastic packaging, where speakers from Husky Injection Molding Systems, KIEFEL, and Fuling Technology presented sustainable solutions specifically tailored to this packaging segment. The forum explored cutting-edge technologies that aim to reduce environmental impact, including advancements in material science and more energy-efficient production methods.

Both parallel forums underscored the pivotal role that technology plays in transforming the packaging industry. From new biodegradable materials to improved design processes, the presentations illustrated a collective push toward creating packaging solutions that are not only functional but also environmentally responsible.

The forum was a tremendous success, attracting audience from domestic and overseas brand owners, plastic packaging manufacturers, suppliers of materials and processing equipment for sustainable plastic packaging solutions, as well as governmental department, environmental organizations, industry associations, research institutes, etc.

SportsTech Forum

Meanwhile, the SportsTech Forum—part of the SportsTech Chic+Green concurrent event—offered attendees a glimpse into how technology is redefining the limits of sports gear. Experts from leading organizations such as The Hong Kong Productivity Council, Americhem, Dow Chemical, Avient, Wanhua Chemical, and others presented innovative solutions transforming the sports industry.

The forum explored cutting-edge technologies like 3D printing and high-performance engineering plastics that are revolutionizing the design, production, and functionality of sports equipment. Speakers discussed how ultra-lightweight materials and customizable sportswear can achieve higher levels of performance and comfort at the same time.

A key highlight of the forum was the opportunity for attendees to engage with industry leaders and explore the innovative technologies shaping the future of sustainable sports gear. It also offered interactive experiences in the Interactive Display Zone and the Green Product Display Zone, where the latest eco-friendly advancements were showcased.

Today: Explore the future of sporty chic and value-driven innovations

Today (Day 3), CHINAPLAS features the highly anticipated continuation of the SportsTech Forum, with the theme “Unveiling the Trends of Sporty Chic and Value-Added Approaches”. The forum promises to explore the fusion of sports performance technology and fashion, providing valuable insights into how style and functionality are merging in the world of sports gear.

Further discussions will focus on the growing trend of athletic apparels that not only perform but also look stylish and integrate seamlessly into everyday life. Attendees can expect to learn about the latest trends in stylish activewear, smart sportswear, and innovative materials that enhance both performance and aesthetic appeal.

Stay tuned as CHINAPLAS continues to bring you more insights from the SportsTech Forum, where experts will delve into how advanced technologies and materials are merging to create the next generation of sports products.
