BASF Coatings has been awarded with the Green Impact Pioneer Award at the European Chamber’s 12th corporate social responsibility (CSR) Awards.
CathoGuard 800RE cathodic electrodeposition coating delivers measurable environmental and operational benefits in automotive coatings. The technology reduces freshwater use by up to 68% per vehicle, lowers CO2‑equivalent emissions by approximately 8% and improves material efficiency by up to 20%, while meeting stringent safety and regulatory requirements.
Continuous successful deployments across OEM production lines in China as well as globally confirm the tangible results of CathoGuard 800RE. Customer trials and line data validate the water savings, material efficiency gains and reduced process costs.
“CathoGuard 800RE is the tangible result of close, hands-on collaboration with our OEM partners. This comprehensive excellence not only supports BASF Coatings’ sustainability priorities but also helps our customers meet ambitious Scope 1 and operational targets, advancing more sustainable manufacturing across the automotive value chain,” said Dr. Audrée Andersen, Director, Global E-Coat Technology at BASF Coatings.
