TopOlefin officially starts second-phase optical resin production

TopOlefin has recently started the second phase optical resin production with a capacity of 41,000 tons per year.

The project annually produces 1,000 tons TOPC high-end optical polycarbonate (PC) and 40,000 tons TOPM optical polyacrylate. This production makes a breakthrough on China’s long dependence on importing in its high-end optical resin market, strengthening China’s supply chain in high-end optical resin sector.

The project began in 2023 and it reaches production target through key technologies including continuous compounding and purity control.

TopOlefin officially started the second phase of optical resin production with a capacity of 41,000 tons per year.

Scalable production of High-end optical PC

As the company’s core product, TOPC high-end optical PC already achieves stable scalable production. TopOlefin have already achieved local production of Cyclic Olefin Copolymer (COC). This recent achievement reinforces the company’s expertise in producing high-reflection PC in China.

Optical grade polycarbonate copolymer entering high-end market

Another main product from TopOlefin, TOPM optical grade polyacrylate, exceeds accumulated sales of 10,000 tons since its start of production. Featuring high performance, the product is building itself in high-end display, automotive parts and medical use.

Supporting downstream strategical development

TopOlefin’s product is ideal for emerging industries such as optical information, new energy vehicle, consumer electronics and more. Its development aligns with the demand on high-end and sustainable products in Chinese new material industry.

With the production start of second phase project, TopOlefin further strengthens its own product portfolio in high-end compounding materials, further promoting development of related industries.
