SIKORA introduces quality inspection software for cable production

May 28, 2026

In cable production, consistent product quality is a sign of the manufacturer’s excellence. Low process variation is a key condition for consistent quality within the required tolerances.

SIKORA presents a new software program – LINE PERFORMANCE OPTIMIZER – that detects quality fluctuations at an early stage during production, which was first unveiled to the public at wire Düsseldorf tradeshow in April 2026.

The standard deviation σ (sigma) of different measured values can be an important indicator of the quality of a final product. However, its value is only representative if the individual measured values are unadulterated, e.g., if they have not been averaged. This is because short-term interferences or cyclically occurring peaks are no longer present in smoothed data.

SIKORA’s new LINE PERFORMANCE OPTIMIZER software program is based on individual values with extremely high accuracy, which are not subject to any averaging.

The individual values are available in every SIKORA measuring device and are consolidated in a connected ECOCONTROL processor system. This provides a transparent overview of the quality level of the entire line.

Deviations, known as noise levels, can be detected at an early stage, clearly localized, and specifically remedied with the operator’s experience, ensuring a stable process and consistently high production quality. Production quality is clearly visualized on the ECOCONTROL processor system.

The LINE PERFORMANCE OPTIMIZER uses precise individual measurement values to reveal the full picture of irregularities in an extrusion process. Thus, it provides information about the source of any interference and assists in resolving the issue.
