Lean manufacturing the focus of WINTEC's open house at Changzhou plant

As a 100% owned subsidiary of ENGEL, WINTEC focuses on producing efficient, stable and high-quality injection molding machines.

“Increase efficiency and invest in lean production methods is growing in importance all over the world, we as machine manufacturers need to make sure to understand our customers and use this knowledge to further improve but also adapt our product portfolio,” said Markus Fuchs, President Sales and Service of WINTEC Global.

During the seminar, experts from automotive, home appliance and injection molding related industries shared their opinions and provide comprehensive insights into opportunities and challenges.

Dhimant Desai, VP Quality from FAW-VOLKSWAGEN Automotive JETTA Brand & Chengdu Branch, pointed out that the future development of automotive industry has imposed higher requirements for lean production in plastics industry.

Hailong Xie, R&D Department Manager of Sichuan Changhong Intelligent Manufacturing Technology, shared the company’s in-depth application and efficient integration of intelligent manufacturing.

Dallas Wang, Sales Director Asia and Oceania at WINTEC, shared the company’s efforts and breakthroughs on lean manufacturing with practical application cases of t-win machines.

A plant tour is included in the open house event. By taking ground source heat pump technology and 22°C constant temperature workshop, Changzhou plant provides high precision for machining and assembly.

The plant has leading automated assembly line for injection molding machines in China, which is connected to SAP management system for real-time monitoring. Machining and testing equipment uses high-end brands to ensure the quality of parts.

Markus Fuchs also explained the recent upgrade and renovation project of the plant.

The servo-hydraulic two-platen t-win is a highly efficient machine series for single-shot applications. The machine offers higher productivity, longer service life, increased availability, higher energy efficiency, smaller footprint and smarter control unit.

On the open house day,  t-win 4500 and t-win 8500 production cell offered two highly efficient solutions for automobile ambient light and AC base frame.

After seeing the live demonstration, a customer from Jiangsu, China commented “Visiting the plant was very impressive, at the same time, through the in-depth understanding of the design, operation and maintenance of the t-win machine, I believe that the product’s excellent performance will be an important addition to our transformation and upgrading.”
