World’s first permanent ESD film for electronics packaging

EcoCortec, the European subsidiary of Cortec Corporation located in Croatia, contributes to sustainability and circular economy in the packaging for static sensitive multi-metal items.

EcoCortec recently launched the world’s first permanent ESD film powered by Nano-VpCI (Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors) with high content of post-consumer recycled (PCR) content – the EcoSonic VpCI-125 PCR HP Permanent ESD Films and Bags, made with 30% PCR content.

They are recommended for packaging integrated circuits, printed circuit boards, PCB components, telecommunications equipment, electronic and electrical panels, and enclosures.

This packaging solution offers comprehensive and environmentally friendly protection for static-sensitive components at every stage, from production to shipment, by providing ESD and corrosion prevention.

They contain permanent anti-static properties to immediately reduce or eliminate static buildup as long as they are in use, independent of humidity. A molecular corrosion inhibiting layer is formed on metal substrates and does not interfere with the physical or chemical properties of electronic components. VpCI will protect void spaces and recessed areas.

They do not affect optical properties, plastics used in electronics industry or solderability of PCB or parts (IPC-J-STD-003C). They also conform to NACE Standard RP 0487-2000 and to MIL-PRF-81705, IEC 61340-5-1.

EcoSonic VpCI-125 PCR HP Permanent ESD Films and Bags are manufactured in Croatia’s green region of Baranja.

At the Baranja site, new Erema regranulating line allows the elimination of waste and the implementation of closed-loop production.
