The global new energy vehicle (NEV) industry is currently experiencing rapid growth. By 2030, the global passenger vehicle market is expected to exceed 80 million units, with the penetration rate of NEVs reaching approximately 50%, meaning nearly 40 million vehicles will be NEVs.

According to the latest data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, from January to July 2024, the production and sales of NEVs reached 5.914 million and 5.934 million units respectively, accounting for 36.4% of the total sales of new vehicles.

With the robust growth of NEVs, what trends in material selection for vehicle bodies and interior/exterior trimmings are worth noting? And how will these trends bring new opportunities to the composite materials and polymer materials industry chain?
