[Mandarin] Covestro: In-mold Coating (DC/IMC) Technology - Facilitating Personalized Design for Automotive Interior and Exterior Components

Automotive

Interior

With the continuous development of the automotive industry, consumers'demands for personalized and diverse interior and exterior designs of cars are increasing. This has driven manufacturers to set higher requirements for materials and production technologies. The development of injection-molded coating (DC/IMC) technology by Covestro began in the early part of this century. After 20 years of technological accumulation, we have gained rich experience in process and material development. In recent years, the Covestro team has deeply participated in multiple DC/IMC mass production projects, closely collaborating with manufacturers and component suppliers, constantly exploring innovative solutions, and continuously upgrading DC/IMC base material materials to meet the technical requirements of different components. This online seminar will cover: 1. Explanation of DC/IMC technology 2. Introduction to DC/IMC mass production projects 3. Overview of IMC specification PC materials

100+ attendees are already asking! Your needs or pain points could be addressed directly by our speakers

Questions raised by registered audience:

1. What is the recommended thickness for the substrate? What is the recommended thickness at the base of the ribs? Will surfaces with ribs, clips, or other structural elements on the back shrink?

2. Which coating layer is suitable for 120°C cores, HDPE, and PP materials?

3. What is the softest possible hardness of this coating layer? What is the hardest possible hardness? Can it be transparent? Is it UV resistant and suitable for outdoor use?

4. Is IMC only suitable for large parts? Is it suitable for parts the size of a mobile phone?

5. How to address the increased post-coating costs caused by defects in the pre-made parts before PUR coating? How does this cost compare to offline coating?

(More questions are being collected…)

You can now submit your question (Suggested format: application scenario + needs/pain points/questions), and you may receive:
