Construction begins for GDPE's new complex

Guangdong Plastics Exchange (GDPE), an electronic exchange endorsed by Ministry of Commerce of China and also Guangdong Provincial Government, laid its first stone for the building of the new main complex yesterday (June 16). Government officials and Paolo Miraglia del Giudice, Consul General of Italy in Guangzhou, were among the guests presented at the foundation laying ceremony in Dongsha, Liwan District, Guangzhou, China.

The building project is an investment of around RMB1 billion. In addition to the main complex, the construction also includes new storage facility, R&D and information center.

According to Cai Hongbing, Vice President of GDPE, the trading business for GDPE is fast developing. With more people choosing the Guangdong platform, Cai revealed the scale of trade was even tripled after the outbreak of the financial crisis.
