Reconstruction and expansion of Daqing Petrochemical's 1200kt/a ethylene project begins

The reconstruction and expansion of CNPC Daqing Petrochemical's 1200kt/a ethylene project commenced on 28th December, 2007.

Paralleling to the existing 600kt/a ethylene unit and relevant support installations, six additional sets of unit will be build, including a 600kt/a ethylene unit, a 300kt/a polypropylene unit, a 600kt/a pyrolysis gasoline hydrogenation unit, a 400kt/a aromatics extraction unit, a 250kt/a and a 300kt/a full density polyethylene units. The total investment of the project is 14 billion yuan (note: reminbi).

Clean operation process is adopted through the project to strengthen pollution control from source to end so as to achieve the goal of increasing production and reducing emission. Energy and material consumption indexes of the project are expected to be the leading in China.
