Rhodia Polyamide's South Korean plant construction on schedule

Sep 19, 2007
Recent follow-up confirms that Rhodia's new 48 KT capacity polymerization plant, under construction in Onsan, South Korea, will come on-stream as scheduled. The plant will reinforce provision of the company's STABAMID range of product and services to its customers throughout Asia.

To ensure consistency of the STABAMID quality standard worldwide, the Onsan plant has been calibrated to be identical to all other Rhodia Polyamide plants and like them it will follow ISO 9001 guidelines. Rhodia currently operates polymerization plants in France (Belle-Etoile), Germany (Freiburg), Italy (Ceriano) and Brazil (Santo André).

Rhodia Polyamide's commitment to the Asian markets is evidenced by its established and growing industrial base in Asia region. This now comprises an adipic acid plant in South Korea; two engineering plastics compounding facilities in China and South Korea; as well as the new polymerization unit at Onsan and a recently opened technical center in Shanghai.

Moreover, Rhodia has announced the addition of an HMDA plant at the end of 2009 and the further addition of an ADN facility is currently under study.
