Brückner presents latest film stretching line developments

Source:Adsale Plastics Network Date :2021-04-13 Editor :JK

At CHINAPLAS 2021, Brückner Maschinenbau presents its latest developments in film stretching lines with significant efficiency increases and for future recycling solutions. A special “Sustainability Area” is also set up at the company booth.

Developments in BOPP and BOPE film lines

Visitors can now discover for the first time the next generation of Brückner’s BOPP film stretching lines, which feature speeds above 600m/min and hourly outputs over 8.5 tons.

Such lines will not only significantly lower film producers’ total cost of ownership, through their increased energy and raw material efficiency, they also fulfill the requirements for sustainable film production.

To contribute in strengthening recycling and circular economy, Brückner’s focus is on mono-material films with superior mechanical and optical properties, which can be used to substitute multi-layer films made from different materials.

As the demand for innovative BOPE films is starting to develop, new line concepts for the production of BOPE films are introduced to help film producers react responsively to the market trend. As said, the lines also have the flexibility to produce BOPP films.

New inline coating system and stretching ovens

As new mono-material films have to meet the highest requirements in packaging, Brückner has developed a new inline coater for all BOPP and BOPE lines, which makes the production of extremely thin functional layers within the nano-range possible.

Due to the extreme thinness, the layers do not disrupt the sorting and recycling, but allow, for example, an improved adherence during metallizing and excellent barriers in combination with aluminum oxide coating.

Cooperating with the German coating specialist Kroenert, the new system has the advantages of producing mono-material high barrier films of better recyclability and reducing further converting/laminating steps. It is also available as retrofit for all existing production lines through Brückner Servtec.

Producing oriented films for high-value packaging applications needs an elaborate stretching oven technology. Brückner’s newly developed ovens ensure lower lubricating oil consumption. In addition, the contamination with lubrication oil and condensate is reduced significantly, offering higher productivity and lower maintenance costs.
