Cortec awarded US patent for industrially compostable stretch wrap technology
Cortec Corporation was awarded a US patent for its Eco Wrap film, a commercially compostable industrial strength stretch film technology.

Cortec’s Eco Wrap was awarded a US patent.
Eco Wrap is a specialty wrapping film with extreme elasticity, which suits for general machine stretch wrapping applications and reduces conventional plastic waste when the material is properly disposed in a commercial composting environment.
It can be used on most automated machines and is easily applied by adjusting the tension on standard stretch wrapping equipment. The film has also been tested on an orbital wrapping machine without breaking, showing greater strength than other film that did not pass the test.

Eco Wrap delivers great strength compared to other film.
Eco Wrap meets the EN 13432/ASTM D6400 standards for commercial composting and was certified industrially compostable by TÜV Austria (#TA8012106218) in 2021.
Cortec’s wrapping film fits a wide range of applications across multiple industries wherever palletization is needed, including manufacturing, online retail, agriculture, baggage and furniture handling, and food industry where packaging application has no direct contact with food.

Eco Wrap can be used in manufacturing application which goods need to be placed on pallets and wrapped before storage or shipping.
With Cortec’s continuous contribution to biodegradable and biobased materials, the new Eco Wrap film sets the company’s role in green packaging development.
