Ampacet launches medical-grade antimicrobial masterbatch

Ampacet introduced ProVital + GermsClean – an additive developed to protect plastic components in healthcare facilities against the proliferation of microorganisms by blocking the growth of bacteria and slowing down fungi multiplication, preventing the formation of harmful biological layers.


Majority of nosocomial infections are caused by bacteria such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Escherichia coli, Enterococci or by fungi-like Candida.

 

Carriers of these infections include the hands of medical personnel and bacteria-infested surfaces in healthcare facililties, such as plastic surfaces touched by patients and healthcare workers.

The new additive protects plastic components in healthcare facilities.

 

Ampacet’s additive was pre-evaluated for biocompatibility and provide full consistency of formulation without alternating the raw materials, with manufacturing under consistent process parameters.

 

The additive offers outstanding performance and protection from a wide spectrum of pathoens with a lower addition rate than traditional solutions and with a very low silver content, limiting discoloration.
