Vietnam’s first fully integrated petrochemical complex commences machinery test
SCG Chemicals revealed progress of the Long Son Petrochemicals (LSP) project –machinery testing was initiated and extensive performance test run of the entire plant system will be further conducted to ensure safety and production quality.
As Vietnam’s first fully integrated petrochemical complex, LSP aims to produce high-quality plastic resins for both domestic and international customers. The plant is with a product capacity of 1.35 million tons per annum olefins unit and 1.4 million tons per annum polyolefins unit.
During the performance test run, LSP will produce high-quality polymers, such as polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP).

“This will help substitute the import of polyolefins and enhance the competitiveness of Vietnam's chemical industry,” said Tanawong Areeratchakul, CEO and President of SCG Chemicals.
The LSP project also integrates an ESG approach for sustainable development into its operation. With cutting-edge and advanced digital technology, the manufacturing processes are ensured with safety and environmental friendliness.
