Novoloop starts building chemical recycling pilot plant in India
Novoloop, a plastic circular economy technology company, announced the construction of a pilot plant in India to demonstrate the scalability of its Lifecycling technology, in collaboration with Aether Industries, a specialty chemical manufacturer in India.

Paving the way for full-scale production
The new pilot plant will be equipped with industrially applicable instrumentation, process controls and safety systems. It will demonstrate the Lifecycling technology in a real-world all-time operating environment, paving the way for full-scale production.
In addition, the plant will validate key techno-economic aspects, such as product yield and recovery rates.
The startup of initial operations commences in Q1 2024 and culminating in a 70-metric-ton annual plastic intake capacity by the end of 2024. Products generated from the pilot plant will be made available to customers for trial and commercial release.
More on Lifecycling technology
By using highly scalable mechanisms of oxidation, Novoloop’s Lifecycling technology transforms post-consumer polyethylene into useful monomers for durable materials, such as Lifecycled thermoplastic polyurethane.
An ISO-compliant lifecycle assessment shows that Novoloop monomers allow a carbon footprint reduction of up to 91%, when compared to conventional process of producing adipic acid.
