At the 2024 Automechanika Shanghai, BASF and RBTS jointly signed an MOU to collaborate on the automotive aftermarket business.

This partnership aims to create an innovative platform that enhances the automotive refinish sector, delivering higher quality and more sustainable solutions. The two partners will leverage their respective strengths in bodyshop network, automotive refinish coatings, body repair and paintwork services.

BASF’s enhancement service package will be available for purchase on Bosch Automotive Technology Service’s OS3.0 platform. The package will include professional technical trainings and competency assessments for paint technicians at partnering bodyshops.

Additionally, the partners will jointly develop new commercial models, such as bodyshop refinish upgrading projects and certified bodyshop network expansions.

“With its strong R&D capabilities and technical expertise, BASF brings cutting-edge solutions to the refinish market. Through this partnership, we aim to provide car owners with more professional, efficient and sustainable automotive experiences,” said Shengying Wang, Director of Workshop Development and Sales at Bosch Automotive Technology Service (Beijing).

The collaboration will begin with local operations in China and gradually expanding to APAC markets.
