Unigons, a Singaporean creative and technology start-up, launched the 3D-printed blindbox figurine made with recycled PET bottles. With only 60 exclusive pieces available, this is a blind box edition featuring 10 random colors.

To mark Singapore’s 60th anniversary, the company combined the nation’s beloved Merlion and fortune cat into the design. Only 60 pieces of these figurines have been crafted.

Reimagining through the lens of innovation and sustainability, the 3D-printed figurine, each 18 cm tall, requires about 30 discarded PET bottles as raw material, with a majority of them donated by beverage giant Yeo’s.

The first critical step in the recycling process is to sort the PET waste from PP, PVC and other materials. After that, the PET waste is then thoroughly cleaned and dried.

Unigons has worked with local 3D printing start-up PlasticTinkers to launch this 3D-printed figurine project.
