K 2025: OMG to unveil machine for thermoformed TPET containers

At K 2025, OMG will show a technological lineup that combines innovation, sustainability and versatility, including a machine that produces thermoformed TPET containers and thermoforming machines for alternative materials.

Machine for thermoformed TPET containers

In collaboration with Thermapet, OMG is working on a project to produce thermoformed TPET containers capable of withstanding both conventional and microwave ovens without being subject to deformation or structural failure. This technical solution has already been integrated into a prototype pilot machine now working in Thailand on the facility of the patent holder of the process.

At the K 2025, this machine compatible with the new "patent pending" device (that will be not shown) will be unveiled at OMG’s booth. Visitors will be able to observe the finished product – a tub – up close and receive samples for practical testing.

Thermoforming machines for alternative materials

In addition to PET, OMG demonstrates its strong focus on alternative materials by developing thermoforming machines capable of processing CPET, CPLA, and even dry paper.

These materials can be processed without starting from preforms, using standard machines and operating directly on the mold to crystallize the material. This approach allows for shapes like those obtained with conventional plastics, but with a potentially reduced environmental impact.

Demos on high performance of packaging

During the K fair, pictures and demos will show the performance of the tubs at high temperatures. A video, shot during the tests with boiling oil, highlights the material's resistance and thermal stability, revealing what often remains confined to laboratories.
