Lubrizol breakthrough technologies make Asia-Pacific debut

Dec 3, 2025

Lubrizol hosted its first Asia-Pacific Innovation Summit in Shanghai, China, on November 25. The event explored emerging trends in material science, discussed innovation-driven collaboration, and defined new pathways for sustainable industry growth. Several pioneering technologies from Lubrizol also made their regional debut.

Advanced additive solutions for next-generation mobility

Lubrizol introduces a comprehensive package of additive technologies designed to meet the demands of China VII regulations of commercial vehicles and the ongoing electrification requirement of passenger vehicles.

Lubrizol CV1150 heavy-duty diesel engine oil solution features a low-ash formulation that meets China VI standards and anticipates China VII emission system protection needs. Certified under GB11122-2025 D1 specifications, it demonstrates outstanding durability and hardware protection in real-world field trial testing with 100,000-kilometer ODI, effectively minimizing critical parts’ wear and reducing diesel particulate filter (DPF) ash accumulation.

Another is Lubrizol’s PV3610 platform additives. Specifically tailored for PHEV and extended-range electric vehicles, this solution achieves a better balance of requirements for high-temperature deposits, water emulsification, and fuel economy in low-viscosity oils by combining multiple new chemical components. This ensures the engine can operate stably and durably across various operating conditions.

Innovative and sustainable packaging coatings

Lubrizol introduced a new waterborne acrylic emulsion for paper food packaging. The coating materials enabled by Lubrizol’s water-based technology are free from PFAS and polyethylene (PE) film, offer excellent oil and water resistance comparable to traditional materials and deliver low VOC, recyclability, biodegradability and repulpability. It also provides outstanding low-temperature heat-sealing performance.

Next-generation foam technology for sustainable footwear

Lubrizol debuted its novel grades of ESTANE BCX TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) for physical foam solutions. These brand new ESTANE BCX AM and BCX HS TPU solutions, specially formulated for melt- and solid-state physical foaming processes, meet high-performance demands, enhancing production efficiency and promoting circularity.

Depending on the foaming process used, midsoles made with the new ESTANE BCX TPUs achieve properties such as densities down to 0.12 g/cm³ and vertical rebound up to 75%, demonstrating superior light weight, improved energy return and long-term performance stability.

Lubrizol has established a Foam Application Center of Excellence in China and Korea to accelerate sustainable innovation across the footwear industry.
