CES 2026 Innovation Awards: Structural block made with hard-to-recycle plastic waste

Co-developed by WES-Tec Global and the Korea Low Impact Development Association, the Eco-C CUBE – a high-strength structural block made with hard-to-recycle plastic waste – won the CES Innovation Awards 2026 in the category of “Sustainability & Energy Transition”.

The structural block is produced by directly extruding and molding hard-to-recycle plastic waste, such as fishing nets, buoys, agricultural films, and multilayer packaging, without washing or separating.

 

With a proprietary “New-Cycling” process, the blocks are manufactured at low temperatures to preserve the polymer structure, resulting in tensile strength of 10 times higher than existing plastic products and comprehensive strength compared to concrete.

 

In addition, each kilogram of product reduces approximately 2.99 kg of CO2 emissions, which is officially verified by the SDX Foundation through Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). The recycling technology also helps reduce carbon emissions by more than 20% during construction.

 

Eco-C CUBE technology was also rewarded the Silver Prize in the Advanced Engineering Infrastructure Solutions category at the 2025 Edison Awards for its innovation in sustainable construction materials.
