Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney Meets with Xiang Jiongjiong, CEO of Rongsheng Petrochemical
On January 16, 2026, Xiang Jiongjiong, CEO of Rongsheng Petrochemical, met with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney in Beijing during his official visit to China. Members of the Canadian delegation included Mélanie Joly, Minister of Industry; Tim Hodgson, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources; and Jennifer May, Ambassador of Canada to the People’s Republic of China. Also in attendance were Li Xinhua, Assistant to CEO of Rongsheng Petrochemical; Guo Zili, General Manager of Rongsheng Petrochemical (Hong Kong) and Liu Qinghui, Vice President of Rongsheng Petrochemical (Singapore).
During the meeting, Mr. Xiang Jiongjiong provided Prime Minister Carney with an overview of Rongsheng Petrochemical's development and globalization strategy. As Canada is one of Rongsheng Petrochemical's key crude oil suppliers, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions regarding potential collaboration enhancements in Canadian crude oil trade. Additionally, they explored cooperative opportunities in liquefied natural gas (LNG), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and ethane.
