Outdoor plastics designed to withstand year-round challenging weather

From coastal humidity to inland heat, outdoor plastics face year‑round stress. Tinuvin NOR 600 is designed to provide performance for exactly these challenging conditions, combining long‑term weatherability with strong acid resistance.

The additive works synergistically with other BASF light stabilizers to significantly boost the resistance of PVC, its alloys, and polyolefin-based plastics to UV radiation and heat. This makes it particularly suitable for applications such as for example, roofing membranes, truck tarpaulin, and artificial turf.

Tinuvin NOR 600 is offered in a free-flowing, low-dust form that allows processors and masterbatch manufacturers to handle it safely and efficiently while developing durable, differentiated solutions.

The product sets a new benchmark in light stabilization and enables customers to meet the increasing performance requirements for outdoor plastic applications.

Advanced stabilizer for agricultural films

China is the world's largest consumer of plastic films in agriculture. BASF’s Tinuvin NOR platform provides advanced stabilizer solutions that protect agricultural films against strong sunlight, heat and agricultural chemicals at the same time, providing durability and reliable performance.

From the vegetable greenhouses of Shandong to the sprawling horticulture bases in Yunnan, farmers can rely on advanced plastics to protect their crops from intense sunlight, fluctuating temperatures, and increasingly unpredictable weather.

By using the NOR technology, film manufacturers can ensure long-lasting protection, easy processing, and compliance with organic farming standards.

Sustainability across the entire plastics lifecycle is enabled through the BASF VALERAS portfolio of additive solutions and services, of which Tinuvin solutions are an integral part.

Reliable performance for demanding rotomolding applications

Rotomolding applications such as water tanks or logistic containers for industrial goods including chemicals or other hazardous materials require high material performance to prevent leakages and environmental contamination. The material has to withstand harsh weather conditions, wide temperature fluctuations during transport through temperature zones, and long-term outdoor storage.

Water storage and container manufacturers looking for advancing their material performance can turn to BASF’s Irgastab product solutions. The newly developed portfolio for rotomolded containers or liquid tanks, can provide UV protection for up to 20 years while improving productivity and processing efficiency at the same time.
