India extends anti-dumping duty on Chinese PET resin
India has extended the anti-dumping duty of US$200.66 per metric tonne on imports of virgin polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin from China for another five years, following a review that found imports from China continued to rise at a substantial pace despite the existing duty.
The authority confirmed that continued dumping, significant price undercutting, and rising import volumes are affecting Indian domestic producers.
The Ministry of Finance issued a notification in this regard on 19 June 2026. The measure applies to PET resin with intrinsic viscosity of 0.72 dl/g or higher, covering imports originating in or exported from China under HS codes 39076110, 39076190, 39076930 and 39076990.
Recycled PET remains excluded from the scope.
