Inside NIO’s closed-loop mobility at CRRE 2026
At the Circular Resources and Recycling Expo (CRRE 2026), held from November 25–27 at the Suzhou International Expo Center in Suzhou, China, leading smart electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer NIO Inc. will take center stage, presenting its green products and sharing its low-carbon strategies.
As a driving force behind the Chinese automotive industry’s green revolution, NIO does not just practice sustainability—it has hardwired it directly into its entire business ecosystem. From product design and smart manufacturing to supply chain networks, energy infrastructure, and user communities, NIO is redefining what it means to be a truly sustainable brand.
At the heart of NIO’s sustainable development is its “car-to-car” closed-loop recycling system, paired with advanced production facilities officially recognized as National Green Factories. By executing full-lifecycle carbon management, the EV pioneer is actively transforming the concept of a circular economy into a real-world reality for the future of mobility.

NIO seamlessly integrates the circular economy into the future of mobility.
Low-Carbon manufacturing and product lifecycle management
NIO consistently drives energy conservation and carbon reduction across its production lines, backed by transparent carbon-reduction targets for its vehicles.
Using 2023 as a baseline, NIO is on a definitive path to slash full-lifecycle carbon emissions per vehicle by 43% by 2035. On the factory floor, the automaker lowers operational emissions through energy management systems, energy-saving retrofits, renewable electricity integration, and the continuous expansion of its certified green factories.
NIO’s vision extends far beyond the production line; its car-to-car closed-loop recycling project has already successfully processed over 1,100 end-of-life vehicles. This circular initiative has successfully reclaimed nearly 500 tons of recycled aluminum, preventing over 10,000 tons of cumulative carbon emissions from entering the atmosphere.
Supply chain integration and global ecological collaboration
NIO has launched the NIO Supply Chain Sustainability Initiative, driving sustainable governance across its supplier network. By focusing on environmental impacts, business ethics, and compliance management, the company actively enforces sustainability risk identification and deep assessments for its tier-one partners.
Beyond the factory gates, NIO has forged powerful global alliances. Partnered with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), NIO launched the Clean Parks initiative. By deploying clean energy solutions across protected areas and national parks, this initiative has already successfully established 18 preservation sites worldwide.
Electric vehicle utilization at these ecological locations has already prevented over 100 tons of cumulative carbon emissions from entering the global atmosphere.

Energy services ecosystem
Leveraging its revolutionary “chargeable, swappable, and upgradeable” NIO Power network, the company has officially shattered industry milestones by surpassing 120 million cumulative battery swaps. Going beyond conventional charging, NIO is actively integrating its infrastructure of battery swap stations and charging facilities into demand response programs, peak shaving, and virtual power plant (VPP) systems.
By fostering a highly intelligent synergy between EVs and the power grid, NIO aims to provide customers with a seamless low-carbon travel experience while actively supporting renewable energy integration and grid flexibility.
Bringing circularity to daily life
Through its NIO Life lifestyle brand, the automaker actively promotes a sustainable lifestyle within its vibrant user community. NIO Life launched a garment recycling initiative that has already engaged over 32,000 participant sessions, successfully reclaiming 160 tons of clothing. This massive community effort directly funds the cultivation of over 21,000 square meters of protective forests.
Furthermore, through its Blue Sky Lab fashion label, NIO upcycles surplus manufacturing materials directly from its automotive R&D and production lines—including airbags, seat leather, and carbon fiber. By combining high-value engineering with innovative redesign, these industrial wastes are transformed into eco-friendly apparel, bags, and home goods. This approach seamlessly translates circular economy principles into stylish, everyday products for modern consumers.
Showcasing a sustainable automotive lifestyle
At CRRE 2026, NIO will exhibit at the Sustainable Mobility Themed Zone (Booth: D80). By presenting both its flagship electric vehicle and sustainable consumer goods, NIO will transform the concept of an automotive low-carbon transition into a tangible, immersive, and sensory exhibition experience.
The exhibition will feature NIO’s iconic and representative model. This showcase provides a direct, hands-on look at how EVs utilize lightweight structures, eco-friendly materials, and low-carbon manufacturing to drive green innovation.
