Hanwen New Materials: Recycled plastics customized for factory process needs

Oct 28, 2026

Materials companies hold extensive grade portfolios and publish test data for each. Factories still cannot find a grade that runs on their line. The mismatch is structural: the supplier answers "what do we have", while the manufacturer asks "will this fit our process" — wall thickness, cycle time, regrind ratio, food-contact status, cost ceiling. Solving it requires starting from the second question.

Guangzhou Hanwen New Materials Co., Ltd. (翰闻新材料), founded in 2017, works in that direction: it identifies a factory's actual material gap, then drives development and customization back upstream. Its core team has more than 20 years in plastics, and the company has reached close to 10,000 end-user enterprises across thin-wall packaging, food contact, electronics, transparent housewares, and engineering compounds.

From shop-floor problem to development brief

Each customer relationship resolves into a specific question: whether the current material can fit the process better, whether a better balance of performance and cost exists, whether recycled content can be applied consistently, and whether an imported specialty grade can be replaced domestically. Those questions become development briefs.

Upstream joint development

Delivery depends on coordination with refiners. Hanwen has built a platform for joint customization running from downstream manufacturing scenarios to upstream petrochemical production.

The sequence runs downstream need, Hanwen process analysis, joint upstream development, then material validation — shortening the path from laboratory to production line. By collaborating with the Guangdong Research Institute, the Maoming Research Institute, and the Sinopec system, Hanwen is advancing domestic substitution of POE, EVOH, and specialty impact modifiers, clarifying agents, and stiffness modifiers. Hanwen also holds authorized distribution of BeyondPoly POE for South China excluding Fujian.

Modified materials

‧ DJ17 high-gloss PP: high flow for short injection cycles, high surface gloss that removes the need for painting, good stiffness and scratch resistance. For black cosmetic parts on appliances and small appliances, non-structural automotive interior trim, equipment housings, returnable crates, housewares, and toolboxes.

‧ HDPE milky white A: low melt index and stable flow for medium- and low-speed moulding, high tensile strength and stiffness to resist deformation, impact toughness above ordinary HDPE recyclate. For blow-moulded bottles and drums, toy shells, industrial components, pallets, bumper blocks, and pipe and corrugated pipe substrate.

‧ PCR pellets: HDPE, MDPE, and PP PCR, with verifiable mechanical properties, traceable quality, impact and flexural toughness, tightly controlled ash content, and customization to customer requirements.

‧ Specialty materials: POE, EVOH, and functional additives positioned for import substitution, bringing grades previously sourced abroad into domestic manufacturing.

Scale

Revenue reached RMB 300 million in 2024 and passed RMB 500 million in 2025.

About the CRRE exhibitor

Founded in 2017, Guangzhou Hanwen New Materials Co., Ltd. is a technology research and industrialization company in new materials. Its core team has more than two decades of plastics application experience and process understanding.

The company’s principle is that application-side demand feeds back into R&D, supported by a reverse-development platform linking downstream manufacturing scenarios to customized upstream petrochemical production.
