Messe Düsseldorf strengthens its trade fair portfolio for plastics and rubber in India. Messe Düsseldorf India and the Plastics Machinery Manufacturers Association of India (PMMAI) have entered into a long-term strategic partnership for the further development of PLASTFOCUS, one of India’s key trade fairs for the plastics industry.

Messe Düsseldorf and PMMAI now co-own PLASTFOCUS. Starting from 2027 onwards, the two organizations will jointly organize PLASTFOCUS.

The new partnership with PMMAI marks the first time that Messe Düsseldorf India will co-organize a plastics exhibition in the Indian market. Beginning with the 2027 edition, PLASTFOCUS will move from Noida/Delhi to Bengaluru, one of India’s leading industrial and technology hubs in the southern part of India.

The next edition will take place from June 23 to 26, 2027, at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) and is planned to be held biennially thereafter.

Expanding presence in India

The event will become part of the K Alliance, the global plastics and rubber portfolio of Messe Düsseldorf, which brings together its own events and strategic alliances in key growth markets around the world.

With PLASTFOCUS, the K Alliance is further expanding its presence in India and strengthening its role as an international network for the plastics and rubber industry.

Strong growth in India’s plastics industry

India’s plastics industry is characterized by strong growth, rising domestic demand and substantial long-term potential. Market studies estimate the Indian plastics industry at more than USD 44 billion in 2025, with growth expected to exceed USD 63 billion by 2031. Plastics consumption in India has risen sharply in recent decades and now amounts to around 22 million tons.

At the same time, per capita consumption remains comparatively low, underlining the significant growth potential of the market. Investments in industrial infrastructure, manufacturing capacities, export-oriented production and recycling solutions continue to support the sector’s development.
