(K-Interview) Tederic: Plastic converters need to consider overall efficiency

Source:Adsale Plastics Network Date:2022-10-25

In an online interview during K 2022, Dr. Daniel Ammer, R&D Director at Tederic R&D Center, told Adsale Plastics Network (AdsaleCPRJ.com) that the energy crisis in Europe is generating new market demand for efficient production equipment.

For plastic converters to tackle surging energy prices, China-based Tederic Machinery offers injection molding machine solutions with advanced servo technology and all-electric systems that feature high reduction of energy consumption.

Nevertheless, Dr. Daniel Ammer reminded that low energy consumption is not the only factor for efficient production. Plastic converters have to consider an overall efficiency with high productivity and reliability, high precision molding, and low scrap rate.

With regards to application trends, he pointed out that the automotive industry is driven by electric vehicles, and the industry is “pushing applications for being energy-efficient and reducing carbon footprint”.

At the same time, demands for packaging and logistics solutions are on the rise while the medical market is stable in Europe, he said.

Tederic has established a strong foundation and network in Europe already, and the company is investing in Germany with a new R&D center and new sales partner PlastiVation Machinery GmbH, thereby can stabilize its export business and minimize the impact of devaluation of Yuan.

The R&D center located in Munich plays a key role in collecting the local customer needs of the German and European markets and developing upgraded solutions for Tederic, Dr. Daniel Ammer explained.

At K 2022, Tederic presents its three turnkey solutions of the new NEO Series for the first time in Europe:

- The NEO•M1120s machine is a multi-component machine with two injection molding units. It is especially suitable for the applications in the automotive industry.

- The NEO•E208c electric machine produces pipette tips with a cycle time of 7s. It is a highly energy-efficient machine featuring advanced energy recovery system that reduces energy consumption by 10%.

- The NEO•T160 is a highly energy-efficient hydraulic machine with advanced toggle system. It produces fully biodegradable cutlery of PLA materials at Tederic’s booth.
