Evonik introduces new glass fiber reinforced PPA for automotive applications
Evonik has introduced a new glass fiber reinforced polyphthalamide (PPA) grade, VESTAMID HTplus M1035 P1 for automotive applications.
The new PPA offers high burst pressure strength, good chemical and impact resistance, and is able to withstand high temperatures, making it suitable as substitute of metal for dynamically stressed casing components.
"We are pleased that the trials carried out by our customers confirm our own test results, which allow us to increase our customers' competitiveness even more," said Dr Simon Ting, Global Business Director at High Temperature Polymers, Evonik.
In addition, VESTAMID HTplus M1035 P1 has good flow behavior. As a result, the surface of the injection molded parts tends to be smoother and defects-free, stated the company.
