Husky announces focused plant mandates for its Medical and Specialty Packaging Systems division
Husky Injection Molding Systems announced the decision to focus manufacturing facilities within the Medical and Specialty Packaging Systems business.
With the integration of Sch?ttli and Husky, this new focus will enable Husky to provide a more responsive approach to its customers in these markets, the company said in a statement.
In February, Husky announced the creation of a new Medical and Specialty Packaging business unit, bringing together the capabilities of Sch?ttli, Husky's specialty mold making facilities in Austria and the Czech Republic, aftermarket tooling and services, and the HYLECTRIC machines system platform.
"The creation of this new business unit at Husky allowed us to focus our efforts and enables our global facilities to become experts in select applications, providing a more complete, targeted solution for our customers," says Steve Lawrynuik, Vice President of Medical and Specialty Packaging Systems at Husky. "In addition, being able to take advantage of capacity sharing between facilities means more flexible manufacturing options, ensuring we help customers get their parts to market faster."
Husky said it will, in the future, leverage the expertise and capability of each of its manufacturing facilities, bringing a dedicated focus to each location.
Within the new division, existing Sch?ttli sites will be focused on medical molds and systems, select packaging molds and systems, and some specialty closures. Husky's sites in Austria and the Czech Republic will be focused on specialty closures.
