Zwick showing Allround-Line and zwicki-Line systems at SPE Automotive Composite Conference

Sep 12, 2013

Zwick USA, a subsidiary of international materials testing equipment supplier Zwick/Roell, is exhibiting its new Allround-Line and the zwicki-Line systems at the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) Automotive Composites Conference & Exhibition, which is currently running in Novi, Michigan, the US until September 13.

Automotive industry initiatives to improve fuel economy combined with changing regulations are motivating automotive manufacturers to explore designs that incorporate new materials including advanced composites, according to Bill Becker, Managing Director, Zwick USA.

"At Zwick we are keeping pace with these developments through the introduction of our new Allround-Line system and 13 different fixtures that enable robust testing of composites across a wide range of testing standards," says Mr. Becker.

At the Automotive Composites Conference & Exhibition, Zwick not only presents information on the new Allround-Line system for composites, but also demonstrates the zwicki-Line system utilized by major producers of carbon fiber to test composite materials used to produce automotive components.

As said, the Allround-Line system, available in 100kN and 250kN versions, is capable of performing more than 20 different types of tests in compliance with over 100 test standards. The system accommodates a wide range of tests on a single platform, reducing equipment changeovers and overall testing time.
